EP03: THE END

Rayaan couldn’t stop crying after he read Anika’s diary. He was holding her hand and continuously chanting “I’m sorry for whatever happened to you”. Anika on the other was starring to the wall and was completely avoiding Rayaan. “I can handle all the problems of the world but your separation from me is something unbearable to me. Anyone who tries to separate you from me is my enemy and I don’t care if he is my own father.” He blubbered angrily and stood up. Anika tried to calm him and asked him to handle the situation with care. She said, “I know what happened was wrong and I won’t be able to forget it ever but you need to understand the past cannot be undone and we have the power to choose our future. I will advise you not to take any action in vain”. Rayaan was burning in wrath and he had no interest in listening to the advice of Anika. All he wanted was JUSTICE FOR ANIKA. He left the room and went straight to his house. As soon as he entered the house, he started smashing all the decorations and turned the sofas upside down. His father asked him the reason behind his anger to which Rayaan replied, “I would surely tell you but I will choose to read Anika’s diary in front of everyone present here.” He paused and started reading the diary.
 “June 14, Thursday
09:22 pm
Dear diary,
I, Anika Deshpande, is highly confused between what to do ahead. I feel like my life has come to an end and everything from here is going to tear me apart. I am in a love with an amazing guy and I want to marry him but I am afraid of making him, my life partner. I just don’t want to live with him in his house. I am highly terrified of his father. On June 13th when I went to his house, Rayaan and his mother were in the market; shopping for the engagement and I was alone with his father. Dear diary don’t get me wrong I only went to handover a parcel to Rayaan and to surprise him but he was not there at home. His father was very pleasant to me, he asked me to be comfortable and offered me snacks and juice too but then something happened which was not acceptable. He came close to me and touched me in a very inappropriate way, I stood up and tried to walk away but he held my wrist and said: “I want to test your sexual capacity, you must be able to satisfy my son”. I got frightened and attempted to free my hand but his grip was out of my coverage area. As he was coming closer and closer my heart was skipping the beats and I was pumping up to shout furiously but as soon as I opened my mouth, he sealed it with his large palm and gave a dangerous smile. He pushed me on the couch and leaned over me and started stripping my clothes. My hands were shackled and I was helpless lying there with no hope generating to be saved. I had to give up with tears flowing beyond my eyes but that beast was unstoppable. He gave up only when he was satisfied. I am shattered. I want to run away. I want to be free from this heartless society but I can’t leave Rayaan alone here. I had to do something so that Rayaan by himself leaves me and then I will be able to die peacefully. I don’t want him to hate his father, at some point maybe his father is a good man, I hope.

There was pin-drop silence in the room. Everyone was looking to the Ryaan's father to break the silence. His father was gazing at the floor with despair. While there was no one who had the courage to break the silence, Rayaan’s mother went to the storeroom and came back with a broom. She started hitting his father with a broom with an unbroken spirit and continued it till he got off the house. She said to Rayaan’s father, “we have no place for the Dracula in our house. Get out and never show your face to us.” She then broke down into tears. She asked Rayaan to take her to Anika. When Rayaan and his mother reached the hospital, Anika’s mother and father were crying outside her room and her brother was consoling both of them. When Rayaan asked them the reason for their weepy condition, they replied with a heavy heart ANIKA HAD LEFT US. 
The dream of Rayaan to make Anika his own was now incomplete forever. Though he had the regret of losing everything he was happy at least he gave her justice which she deserved. He was happy that her soul rested in peace.
